Beck and Holly had their ceremony at Petersham Nurseries in Richmond, London. Petersham Nurseries offers two unique venues; The Petersham in Covent Garden and the greenhouse in Richmond. The greenhouse is perfect for a laid-back, intimate wedding of up to 40 guests. Any wedding photographer will tell you that a greenhouse is the dream when it comes to gorgeous, softly diffused light. Weddings here tend to take a relaxed pace, too. Guests were at ease, taking their time over a long family-style dinner with impromptu champagne toasts. Beck and Holly made the celebration their own, a drag queen friend officiated the ceremony, the couple read their own vows, and the feel of the day was that of a close-knit family dinner.

The Greenhouse is a beautiful space to celebrate, surrounded by bougainvillea and jasmine and tree ferns. Naturally, the venue needs very little by way of additional decor, but Holly and Beck added some additional flowers from Holly’s Mums garden, which added a personal touch. Being amongst the plants is wonderfully tranquil. The menus focus on seasonal produce inspired by their kitchen garden and they have been awarded a Green Michelin Star for their commitment to sustainability. I’d highly recommend a day out to visit and enjoy a lunch together, if you’re looking for the perfect stylish but laid-back venue for your wedding or civil partnership reception. The space has a tucked away, ‘secret garden’ style feel that is intimate and private. Outside of the glasshouse there are opportunities for couple portraits within the grounds of the nurseries, and you can stroll a little further to reach Richmond Park. Beck and Holly wanted to prioritise time with their friends and family, so we stayed close by to the glasshouse and took a few portraits of the couple. Most of the coverage was in a relaxed style, capturing the relationships between the guests and the natural joy of the day.
