Woolwich Town Hall Wedding

What an honour to be asked to attend this tiny wedding at Woolwich Town Hall. Anika and Claire had a town hall ceremony with two of their closest friends as witnesses. I love an intimate wedding, it really feels very special to be invited to share in such a small, private celebration. The interiors of Woolwich Town Hall are known for looking very ‘accidentally Wes Anderson’, which we played up to with the portraits we took in the central cotton-candy coloured foyer. The grade II listed Edwardian building was designed by architect Alfred Brumwell Thomas and opened in 1903, and the gorgeous architecture makes it a particularly good location if you’re getting married or civil partnered in the autumn or winter, since the inside offers plenty of opportunities for photos. On this day in June, however, the sun shone, so we headed down the road past the iconic ‘Love Lane’ sign, stopping to take a few more photos before arriving at the restaurant for champagne and bloody mary’s. Anka and Claire wore incredible high-fashion outfits, designed by their friend and witness Magdalene Celeste.
